Aftercare tattoo

Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

A tattoo is a wound; if cared for properly, it will heal in approximately 6 weeks. If the tattoo was covered with foil after it was done, this can be removed after 3 hours. If you received second skin, you may remove it on the fifth day. Please note, if you have a lot of fluid/blood under the second skin, we advise you to remove the second skin earlier and start caring for it.

Care for your tattoo as follows:

● Wash your tattoo twice a day with a neutral, unscented soap.

● Pat your tattoo dry with a clean towel or quality paper towel.

● Apply a thin layer of tattoo recovery cream to your tattoo approximately 4 times a day.

● Always wash your hands before touching the tattoo during the healing process!

● DO NOT scratch off scabs or flakes! These will come off naturally when you apply the tattoo recovery cream.

● Avoid tight clothing on the tattoo.

● Only cover your tattoo with cling film for the first night, not thereafter unless you have to work in a dusty environment.

● Showering with your tattoo is allowed; you can shower immediately from the day your tattoo is placed.

● Soaking in water (bath) is NOT allowed for the first 3 to 4 weeks.

● Saunas, steam baths, swimming pools, and sunbeds are also NOT allowed for the first 4 weeks.

● The tattoo must NOT be exposed to sunlight for the first 4 weeks; for a large dark or colored tattoo, this is 2 months.

● To maintain the color and result of your healed tattoo, we recommend applying factor 50+ sunscreen from Carl & Johan to your tattoos!

● We advise NOT to exercise for the first 2 weeks.

● Be careful with pets; if a pet licks the tattoo or hairs get into the wound, this can cause an infection!
